This one is really a 3 1/2 **, not the authors fault as much as it was mine. I found out that political themes are not really my cuppa, that and the "Erin Brockavitch" (?) theme.

Reece (H) was a teacher at heart and loved being one. When his students had dared him to run for Senator he took them up on it, just to show them that a person can be a politican and do it honorably with out selling out and cheating.

One night Kara's bestfriend talks her into going out to a bar and having a goodtime along with a few drinks. When Kara sees Reece sher recognises him right off, after all she's interviewed him a few times. When one drink turned into another and Reece ended up at her table she gave him an interview of a more personal nature.

As these two get closer together a story that Kara's working on turns deadly. With someone out to put an end to the story and Kara herself it's a race for her and Reece to find out the truth and to stay alive.

As with most of the books by Pamela Clare that I have read the sex scenes were very HOT. There were a few lol moments in the begining of the book that had me smiling. There was however one of the worst lines I have ever read..(not the worst but close)*********SPOILER ALERT**********

As the badies are about to kill Kara she yells "Killing me constitutes a major violation of the First Admendment!" That one statement, though I can over look it somewhat, caused it one lost little star. lol
I will keep going in this series and I hope the next book is better but with the same heat level in the love scenes as this one. =) ...more

I really enjoyed that this was a different type of setting than most RS. I loved that it was a journalist's investigation that was driving the suspense story rather than (the more typical) military or cop set up. I know that Pamela Clare was a reporter and the scenes in the newsroom ring true to me. I also enjoyed the romance between Kara and Reece. It was sweet & hot in turns it certainly kept my attention.
