For some reason, I was thinking of this book as some obscure, new author. And after reading her little ditty after the book, I realize that she was very new, as this was her first book. But it sure didn't seem like it. I was really surprised at the world that she has here. She didn't spend a lot of time explaining all of the little details about how vampires came to be and their role in society and how humans deal with them. She simply wrote her book as if they exist, and that's just how it is. ...more

Not a huge Vamp romance novel fan, but holy schnikies is this one a scorcher. Totally reading on in this series :)

There was something about this book that seemed off to me. I liked Cyn, but do think that she at times she was TSTL. I couldn't believe how she couldn't see her sister was trying to work her over. I think she should have kicked her out much sooner or at least called the police on her. She seems like the person that won't learn until she is forced to.

3.5 Stars if I could. Overall, I liked it. I didn't fall right into it, in fact, about 2 or 3 chapters in, I almost marked it DNF. It gave off the whole I-vant-to-drrink-your-blaude vibe to me. I had to push past what I think was my own self-imposed campiness and modernize the perception I had of Raphael, and the story picked up. And I'm glad I did because I ended up pleasantly surprised.
