I think this book is the beginning of a great series! It's taken me a while to get to read this, and I'm excited to see where Kate's story will go from here.
Ms. Andrews has created a completely different world involving shifters, magic, and some of the weirdest and most disgusting vampires I've ever read! It did take me a while to understand fully what was going on, but once I was able to follow the ins and outs of the story, I enjoyed it a lot.

When I first started reading this it was sooo hard to get into. It took me til 100 pages into the book for me to really start liking magic bites. The world is hard to get used to but once you read it, it is really good. I mean once you understand it all, it will become one of your favorites. My kind of urban fantasy book. I loved Kate, she is badass and I just loved her attitude and personality. And OMG. Curran! I love this man! He is my favorite shifter of all this shifter books I have read! I

After reading Magic Bites, I really found myself puzzled on what rating to give this book. After much deliberation, I decided on a rating of 4/5 stars.
My reasoning:
Though the book is very fast paced, the beginning was quite a bore-fest. That being said, there is light at the end of the tunnel so don't you dare give up hope! As soon as you get to around page 40, the action begins and pretty much never ends. You are thrown into one action packed sc ...more

May be a 3.5 not quite 4. I was a bit disappointed because I've heard so many praises about this series. I was having trouble follow thru the first several chapters of the book but it got better in the end.
I like Kate character and that's pretty much it. Didn't feel the real connection/attaction between Kate and Curran at all. WTH? I was expecting fireworks. Dang it.
I will read the next book, and hope it's better than the first one. If not, I'm moving on. ...more

Very good story.
This book has a slow start but once you're in the characters and storyline are worth the extra effort! Second half of the book is "can't-put-it-down" good! ...more
