This book captivated me. It started out kind of strange, with the shifting 1st person POVs, and the fact that the heroine gets hit by a bus at the beginning of the story (not a spoiler, trust me). But, I have to say, I couldn’t stop reading. It’s the honest truth that I would read the phone book if Anne Stuart wrote it. I really wanted to like this book, but it is typical cookie-cutter paranormal romance. A bunch of alpha-males living in a compound, and their destined mates who are mainly destined to be taken from their real lives live in said boring compound forever. Very little flair to the setting, the whole thing takes place mainly in this compound, foggy island, whatever this place was (it wasn't very well described). Not enough to keep me interested.
