So some authors know how to sneak up on you. They don't do it by threats, "I will get you my pretty and your little dog too! Then send flying monkeys after you (or trolls) if you don't read my book"...nothing like that. Oh no they send Barbarians with big...errr...swords under a different name...that is how they get you. A good story, but it would have helped if there was more background about the Horde. When they were in power, what were their motivations? It seemed like something was missing from that part of the storyline that would have helped me understand Mina’s behavior better – and it would have helped me understand why she was such an outcast. I didn’t understand that part at all…anyway, a decent read, but it would have been better with more background info.

it took me a minute to get into this book as i had never read anything that was steampunk-ish. however i am glad i kept reading. it was completely worth it. i didnt want wit to end! and i cannot wait for the next one!
