I must be in the mood for vampires, since I've been seeing these bad boys all weekend. Anyway, I was recommended to read this book a long time ago, around the time I was started reading J.R. Ward's BDB series, but opted out because of the similar themes. A few years later, I can still see the resemblance between the series's, but I feel like the execution varies greatly. Really nothing new to add to the vampire universe, but a fun read regardless.
I must add that the author's knowledge of Boston, where the book is set, was pretty terrible. As a Bostonian, her errors continually yanked me out of the story. ...more

I liked it. It reminded me a bit of BDB, but it had it's own style. It was intersting enough for me to try the second in the series.
