This was a good book but it was so much like Black Dagger Brotherhood series that I can't really give it more than 3. I really liked the characters but I didn't get a emotionally invested as I do in the BDB books. I will continue with the series though because like I said I enjoy the characters and want to see where they end up.

This is basically The Black Dagger Brotherhood with a few twists thrown in. Only, I have to admit, it's much better written, although sadly I didn't get sucked into the story like I did with BDB, which is a shame.

4.5 stars. I really enjoyed the first book in Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. Yes, it's about vampires, but Adrian puts some good twists on the mythology and sets up the groundwork for an epic battle between good vampires and vampires gone very, very bad. Well-written with steamy love scenes, a messed-up alpha hero and an enjoyable heroine, and taut action scenes. I plan to read the rest of the series!
