Re-read Oct'2019:
I still loved it, but I liked Mine Till Midnight and Seduce Me at Sunrise better this time rereading the series. The Hathaways is absolutely one of my all-time favorite series! Still big 5+ stars!
Original read/review Jun'2010:
5++ stars – Historical Romance
“Her chances of a decent marriage were about to be dashed-and all because of a ferret.” And thus begins the wonderfully romantic third installment in the saga of the eccentric Hathaway family, Tempt Me At Twilight.

I can’t decide whether it’s a good or bad thing that I’ve waited so long to read Lisa Kleypas. On the one hand, I could kick myself because I could have been reading her wonderful stories years ago, but on the other hand, I still have so many of her books to look forward to.
I’m loving her Hathaways series. Although I have yet to give a book in this series a five star rating (her Wallflowers series achieved two from me), I think I am loving this series even more. There is something so incredibly ...more

This is one of those almost-but-not-quite 5* reads. It was easy to understand why Harry didn't believe in love and didn't trust affection, so I could see why he chose the strategy he did to acquire what he wanted - and he wanted Poppy. But the fact that he knew -and didn't care - that his actions were intentionally hurtful towards Poppy made it difficult for me to even want him to succeed. Naturally, Lisa Kleypas knows how to bring us around to her way of thinking: Harry redeemed himself wonderf

This is my first LK historical and it won't be my last. I loved Harry and Poppy together. The romance was sweet and carried throughout the entire book. I couldn't put it down and I look forward to picking up Cat and Leo's romance next week.

Really enjoyable - my favorite Hathaways book so far. I had a few quibbles with the story overall but not enough to mar my enjoyment of reading. Lisa Kleypas has penned another great, absorbing read. Now I'm off to go glom her backlist again.

First let me say that there are going to be 2 more books. YAYYYYY
I am as giddy as a girl that got asked out on her first date. haha
But seriously, this was a good book. Harry and Poopy were such an interesting couple I can see how Lisa would pair them together. Poppy being open about being intelligent and Harry getting what he wants when he wants it. However, they way they get married leaves one to question Harry's motivation, but as the book progress you get a look into Harry and realize why he ...more
