There are already many excellent reviews on this book and I agree with most of them, so I won't bother writing mine. I'll just say that the sex scenes were a bit ouf of my comfort zone but I didn't mind. That's how much I loved Jack and Emma. :)

After being less than impressed with the first two books in the Leopard series, I was reluctant to read this one, even after I picked it up for a song. Well, I was wrong!! And I'll grab up the next one, hoping that Feehan continues the series in this vein.

I may have to lay off Feehan for a while. Lately, I have been in a non-angsty kind of mood, so this didn't really work for me. The hero was...TOO intense, which is saying a lot because I generally find brooding men with scars (literally and figuratively) quite sexy. But Jake, not so much. And the sex scenes were painful to read. Painful, I tell you. I felt abused, degraded, and humiliated just for reading them.

I just finished reading this, and it is now one of my favorite Feehan books. I am a huge fan of the Alpha male and Jake is that and then some, but I absolutely love Emma. She is more than a match and a mate for Jake.

Jake Bannaconni & Emma Reynolds meet right after her car accident (caused by his pregnant ex-girlfriends drunk boyfriend; kills them & her husband). She's pregnant; his son survives; he persuads her to go to his home to look after his baby, & after her daughter is born (he adopts her), to take care of them & the house.
