Great read! I have a new 'must have' author.
I loved the opening with decrepit Miss Mabel whacking our hero with her walker because she thought he was hurting our heroine. The setup, secret warriors guarding the world from evil monsters, is not new but the author makes it her own.

I really liked this book, the world that is set up is a great one. It is hard to describe as there are new species of "people", demons, and monsters. Things are revealed slowly as like Helen, the main character, we are learning as she learns. This is somewhat confusing but allows you to feel what Helen does and you can imagine yourself in her place. I loved the people that are in Helen's life, Miss Mabel is a firecracker and you wish there was someone like her in your life, and Lexi, who you are

I would like to say thank you to Bookie for the Undercover Enabler Challenge. This book has been on my TBR pile for ages and it was one of my choices. Now to a review. Did I love it no, did I enjoy the read yes. Enough to carry on with the series possibly because of some of the secondary characters and the way the book ended but I don't know that I would run out and pick up the next book.
