The hero in this book is John Medina. He's a CIA agent (black ops). He wears many faces. He's a legend. What I like about him is that he's a good bad boy.

John is a man that goes after what he wants. He fell hard for Niema, a widow. Her husband Dallas was on a mission with her and John one day and he ends his life on a mission, to them, for a good cause.

4.5 stars. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is just the right balance between romance and suspense. I think it's a real shame that so many " romantic suspense" books these days are just thrillers with a bit of sex thrown in to supposedly classify them in the ever popular romance genre. Even some of my favourite authors are doing this (Karen Rose, Sandra Brown, Tami Hoag for eg.)

The second book in Linda Howard's CIA Spies. This was on several people's lists as a favorite by Linda Howard. I liked it but would have appreciated it more I think if I'd read it more in sequence with the others related to it.

I love the way Linda Howard writes. Her style just works for me. While this isn't one of my personal favorites, it is one I will keep and reread. Highly recommended! ...more
