Absolutely fantastic! 5++ stars for this lovely first installment of the Fading Lands.
I don't usually read pure fantasy, have really only got in to the paranormal in the last few months. But THIS novel would turn anyone into a fantasy reader.

I had this book recommended to me by someone and at first I thought..."No, sorry I'll never be able to get into a book that is based on total fantasy, fantasy creatures fantasy lands..it just isn't for me" Well Never say NEVER because I truly liked this book. It was well written it is well thought out has a definite direction. The characters both main and secondary are extremely easy to like...the villains are bad as they should be...I am on book two and zipping through that as well. I won't ret

Okay, if I hadn't been already aware that this book ends as it does, I think I would have been howling mad. But thankfully I knew beforehand and already have book 2 waiting fo me. :)

Surprisingly good.
I was worried it would degenerate into pure elf romance, but even though it was clearly romantic, the story never got bogged down with sappy scenes, or irritating manipulative emotional story lines.
The tale kept spinning, creating quite an impressive fantasy backdrop.
But I can see why it was placed into the romance category, its has a lot more emotionally charged love scenes then the average male fantasy reader would tolerate.
Oh can't forget to mention my least favorite asp ...more
