I really liked this book, was slightly surprised as Syn irritated me in the last book with his woe is me ness about his life. This time around there was a little of that but more of this is what happened to me, I know you can't stand it so lets joke about it before you can leave me or think bad about me for it.

It's all back story; over 500 pages of two people talking and thinking about how shitty their lives have been. Their lives were, indeed, shitty, and kudos for Kenyon making the leading man a rape victim (again), but It would only be readable if it was a LOT shorter.

While I did enjoy this one more than the first book, I kind of got tired of hero constantly putting himself down and saying how he never deserved anything good in life.
I lent this to Carrieg too!
