I find this author to be very hit or miss for me, but this one was a big hit. From the start I loved Drea. I may not have agreed with her choices, but I did like that she was 100% sure of where she was, what she was doing, and where her place was in the life she had chooses, she in no way lied to herself to make herself feel/look better.

As many other reviewers have pointed out, this book had a great premise. And it certainly got off to a great start. The first 3 chapters grabbed me right away, and i was anxious to see what would happen next.
Unfortunately, this book quickly went downhill. The storyline came to a complete standstill after the first few chapters. While I have really loved and enjoyed most of Linda Howard's Romantic Suspense books, I just liked this one. It is a story about a drug lord's girlfriend, an assassin (Holy...Smokin...ASSASSIN!), second-chances and dramatic life changes. It started off smokingly and then dragged for quite a bit before picking up again. I felt there just wasn't enough development between the leads.
