To be honest, I stopped reading Sherrilyn Kenyon’s books after ACHERON, from her DARK HUNTERS series. This was mainly due to the fact that I felt each book was going over the same old ground and only the names of the characters changed.
So I picked up this book since I found out that BORN OF ICE, which I have on my bookshelf, was book 3 in the series. So instead of doing my usual of reading the books out of order, I decided to start at the beginning. I’m ...more

Did I get this right...this is Ms. Kenyon's debut novel? This book is amazing. It's like Black Dagger Brother meets Stars Wars meets assassins. It's actually 4.5 stars. I'm knocking off the half star for the heroine, who I guess redeems herself, but I didn't like her.

Of course I had to sound out a few and am sure it is nothing like the author intended. Why 4 starts? In the end it was a book I couldn't put down, even for Sunday Football. After I finished it I immediately bought the rest of the series. So, I must have liked it. ;)

Gave up on because I couldn’t take the annoying heroine. Had only one book left. I think Syn deserved better. She was rude and nosey and I don’t get why she couldn’t get that Syn wasn’t as bad as she believed him to be. They’re going to breaking up soon. Why do authors write dislikable characters with no redeemable characteristics???
I will have to come back to this one later as I am sure it will get better.
