Ahh Acheron by any other name... lol
No really though, I adored Nykyrian. Even if I truly was about to stab myself in the eye if I had to read one more bloody time about how unworthy he was and how he was nothing but an animal and blah blah blah. Yeah. I get it. The man hates himself. Cool. Move along already.
I have to say Sherrilyn Kenyon is the queen of (literally) tortured characters. Good heavens talk about a miserable childhood for pretty much everyone in the story, but no one m ...more

To be honest, I stopped reading Sherrilyn Kenyon’s books after ACHERON, from her DARK HUNTERS series. This was mainly due to the fact that I felt each book was going over the same old ground and only the names of the characters changed.
So I picked up this book since I found out that BORN OF ICE, which I have on my bookshelf, was book 3 in the series. So instead of doing my usual of reading the books out of order, I decided to start at the beginning. I’m ...more

Beginning is a little slow & a bit uncomfortable because you are not only learning the characters names, but their species and the planet(s) they come from. Of course I had to sound out a few and am sure it is nothing like the author intended. Why 4 starts? In the end it was a book I couldn't put down, even for Sunday Football. After I finished it I immediately bought the rest of the series. So, I must have liked it. ;)
