On first reading this I wrote, "J. R. Ward has created a wonderful fantasy world where protectors against evil can find love and redemption. Beth Randall finds out she is only half human, and there is one who will help her through her body's changes as a favor in honor of her late father. Excellent characters, action-packed plot, and the kind of interplay of personalities that keeps a room jumping. Dark Lover belongs on my keeper shelf."

This is now somewhere around the 7th or 8th time that I have re read this book. After our home being robbed early news years morning while we were asleep upstairs, I decided on a BDB re read to cheer me up. I had planned a re read for March in preparation for Lover Unleashed but I guess I am doing it now. Totally loving it though, no matter how many times I have read them - my absolutely favorite series ever :)

i thought that dark lover was really good and some parts so hard to get through like the lesser parts but halfway through the book i just started skimming through those parts. i love wrath! and i liked beth and wraths's love story. i really like V, and Rhage! i thought that this couldv'e been better. it wasn't like so completely good that i would hurry and go buy them but its okaiexz. im really interested to read about rhage's story next in lover eternal, hopefully ill like it more than dark lov

I picked up this book because I'd heard so many people talk about the Black Dagger Brotherhood and knew I had to give it a try. It was far more paranormal romance than I normally read, but there was plenty of violence and action to keep the storyline going. The BDB boys are some very sexy, very dangerous men, which I loved. I'll certainly be reading the next book to find out what happens to the other members of the Brotherhood.

I love this book. It is a great start to the series and I cant wait to see where this all goes. Once you get the terms down there is no putting the book down. I love the story between Wrath and Beth truely amazing and loving. True love trust and loyality to eachother. I love how the story starts and builds on their relationship to the end. This is my first read of anything by J.R. Ward, and I was not disappointed. I loved the world that is developed and you just know that any subsequent books are going to be of the same caliber. I look forward to working my way through this series.
