I really liked the book, but I didn't really like the story. The mechanics were solid and very well executed. I think the author did an extremely good job at telling her story. I think her writing was way above par. Characters were real and very believable. 4 unmitigated stars. The story was not of my liking, it was raw and dark and basically pretty ugly despite the odd romance that burgeoned. I'll begin with the fact that it's not really a romance book, it's more like drama and I would even say a little bit of horror and tragic because it doesn't give much details about the relationship between Kit and Grizz.
So I didn't feel any connection to Grizz like usually happens with popular romance books.
Also there are skipping in time in the book, sometimes a few months others a few years so basically it's more of a collection of instants and scenes in Kit's life.
