I absolutely love when a writer takes a real person and adds to their life's story. From the get go, you are pulled into believing that the author believes the entire story to be true. It's very well done. Seth's woven vampires and their impact on Lincoln's decisions to run for office and free the slave so well. Great Read.

I don't read a lot of historical fiction, but this one caught my eye. The enigmatic Abraham Lincoln's secret life is revealed through this entertaining blend of fact and fiction.
The first half to two-thirds of the book is well-paced. We get a real sense of Abraham's character as a young boy through young adulthood, even with the absurdity of vampire's being so important in his history. this book was intriguing. I absolutely love alternate history tales so this jumped out at me. I loved the way real history was woven with the vampire tale. The only part that bothered me was the ending. I was unclear about it. If anyone read the book wants to enlighten me, I'd certainly appreciate it! I think I got the inference but lately, I've been a bit thick! All in all, I recommend this book!

Well I liked how he intertwined fact and fiction. Other than that, I really didn't care for the book. It was unique and creative but also dismal and depressing. This one I won't be reading again.
