This book was good, great even. In this book I took Collins' style as fast paced and not one word wasted (which was such a break since I had just recently read "Pretties" where I skipped 3 paragraphs at a time because they said the exact same thing as the one before) It was amazing how much stuff Collins can make happen on just one page.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!! Well, basically me complaining on the poor spots.
The beginning was so slow. And I was so worried that the whole book would be turned into a rom This book was good, great even. The beginning was so slow. And I was so worried that the whole book would be turned into a romance. But fortunately, it got better. But still, Katniss had been kissing Gale left and right and when she hears that Peeta's back all that is going through her head is "Kiss. Kiss. Kiss!" I know it was supposed to be so that when he tries to strangle her it comes as a big surprise but STILL. I don't like books that the girl has two guys falling for her, and readers are supposed to be reading because 'they can't wait to find out which one she picks'. Maybe if one of the guys was secretly lying and using her, or the guy she liked was out of her reach because he liked someone else. But NOT when both guys want her and drool on her like little lapdogs. Reading books like that, there is no sympathy.
My language arts teacher, being the kind old woman she is, didn't like this book because it had too much violence and she didn't like the ending. I don't agree with her on the violence. This was war, the author wasn't afraid to make it like it is in real life. Innocent people are murdered. And lots of people die. Though one thing, when Finnick died, it was one of those moments you think 'The author wouldn't let him die. The mutts really aren't really gonna kill him. He's gonna show up in a little bit with scratches and make one of his humorous jokes.' I had to read the part over and over again before it finally registered 'Oh, the author did make him die,'.
Prim, hmm I'm actually not that mad she died. Even though you'd think Finnick would be enough. But Prim, Katniss had to have someone important to her die. The only thing, in the ending it sounds as though her mom doesn't really see Katniss at all because she can't bear returning home.
I think the ending was horrible. Too many things left unanswered that actually we were talking about today and the end of math class. WHAT THE FREAKIN' HECK HAPPENS WITH THE GOVERNMENT!??? I don't care about how much Katniss felt with the kids. What happens with the leadership of the country?? It's just that we spent 3 books putting up with them, I think we would like to know how that turns out.
How does Annie stay sane without her husband, the only one who supposed to keep her in the proper state of mind? A baby?
Really? A girl in my class thinks that Katniss should have found a way to cure Peeta completely. But I'm personally fine with his little flashbacks, I view them as scars from a time that should never be forgotten so it will never be repeated.
Gale. Pushed off to the side. Hardly anything said about him.
Those are some of my complaints. But still, even though it was a long list, I thought it was a good book. ...more

Can,t believe it's over I waited and waited and I got it and read it like it was the last book on earth. I'm disappointed it didn't have any nice love scene moments I mean come on it's the third book I was total waiting for the whole warm fuzzy feeling moments and it never came and I'm sad that it's over and I didn't get that feeling that your suppose to get at the end,I feel cheated.
