Someone has kidnapped powerful US politician’s spouses and children seemingly done by Islamist terrorists. The Taskforce is tasked to find them. Recently released from Taskforce. Pike Logan is called to look into the disappearance of Kurt Hale’s niece as a favor. When he finds out that Hale’s niece was on a date with the vice president’s son the action comes together as he begins to unravel the threads and get to the bottom of the kidnapping. Good read.

Beside being great plots it's a pleasure reading an author that has first hand knowledge about the spec-ops world. Also an author that know about the technical world of the military. And he knows the difference between a "clip" and a "magazine."

The 7th in the series about a SF/CT operation in the shadow fringes of government...very Brad Thor/Vince Flynn-ish series...I like the characters and generally identify politically with the author's tone...This one is out of order as I've only read the 1st 3...in this one, Taylor has the Pike & his partner Jennifer Cahill cut out of the task-force's operations, that is, until the children of high-ranking US officials while they served in the military...FUN-FUN-FUN!!!
