I'm a hardcore Mitch Rapp fan. I also like Scot Harvath. So when I heard that Pike Logan was in their league I read the book. I was not impressed mainly because I was expecting a little more, but I know character development is essential to any good writing. Unlike Flynn and Thor, Taylor develops his character in this early book. Pretty good debut novel from Brad Taylor although a bit long-winded and plodding at times. I felt as though the story about a member of an oversight council going rogue and attempting to start World War III was contrived. The action comes fast and furious, however, and Taylor's Pike Logan has lots of potential. Hoping that the second book has a more original story.

A good start to what I hope is another great series. The characters have a lot of potential and I can’t wait to read what’s next.
Great, quick summer read. Good characters, compelling plot.
