What Members Thought

A worthy sequel to Red Sparrow which finds Dominika entrenched in Moscow feeding information to the US and Nate in Athens working as her handler. A crises arises that could lead to her being outed in a power struggle in the Kremlin just as she starts to find favor with Putin as a mole in the CIA could out her.

It often seems like the 2nd book in a planned trilogy is the weakest link. While this was a good page turning spy thriller, it just didn’t have the same catches as Red Sparrow. The sexism and misogyny really got in the way of what could have been an intelligently crafted story. I’m sure I’ll finish up the series, but despite an interesting set of characters and plot lines taken from today’s headlines, it just may be too painful to keep reading.
