I had expected more from Blake. In comparison to the excellent Assassin books, the Jet series lacks suspense and the whole book felt formulaic. While the beginning had some action, the flashbacks and blocks of narrative exposition placed in a drawn-out dialogue between minor characters dragged down the pace. Compared to Blake's assassin series, Jet seems rushed and amateurish. I was also irked by the 'necessity' of giving the main character an abusive past to serve as a justification for a woman

That was a quick easy read. The author knows how to write action sequences if this first book is a judge. Compared to some of the recent drivel I've read this is a breath of fresh air.

This was a great, exciting, action-filled book. There was some emotional turmoil going on here and it does a good job of drawing in the reader too. I looked at the synopsis for Betrayed and see that Russell Blake likes to give his characters real trials in a nice contrast to how kick-butt Jet is and we see that she is not infallible but she knows her stuff. I like knowing I have more books to read!
