Re-reading this book 20 years later. The novel simply couldn't happen today with the advances in technology. Everyone knows where everyone is, but it's still a great story that I enjoyed (again). A Russian submarine captain leads his officers to defect from the USSR to the US. The game is up in the beginning when the intentions of the captain are reveled at the start. However, the beauty in the plot is the chase and the game of cat and mouse across the Atlantic to the "New World". Clancy showed
