Fantastic first effort from Ben Coes. Features a hero who doesn't want to be a hero, and who has a back story that's wonderful to learn about and I hope will be further fleshed out in subsequent books. Presents a fairly realistic scenario related to the energy industry and terrorism. An absolute page-turner, I had a hard time putting this down.

Excellent book. I decided to finally get around to reading Coes' series when I was offered an advanced review copy of The Last Refuge (book 3 in the series). I'm glad I didn't put this series off anymore, it is fantastic. It's a notch below Flynn but I expect Coes to grow as an author and be able to go toe to toe with Flynn in the future.

An excellent debut novel which focuses on attacks on U.S. infrastructure by terrorists. Well crafted story line with many nice twists and turns. The hero of this is former Delta Force soldier Dewey Andreas who is the head of an oil platform that is attacked. He fights of the terrorists and saves some of his crew and becomes the terrorists number 1 target. He struggles with his demons and tries to stop the terrorists before it's too late.
