Even some of the top thriller authors known to lead the genre can --more often as not--simply never get the 'nuclear terror' formula correct. No one knows why. For whatever reason, very few have ever done a good job when it comes to the mixture of nukes, terrorists, and Europe. It usually just doesn't work.
