What Members Thought
Well not what I've come to expect from Paulo Cuelho. The pilgrimage was a story of self discovery and unlocking inner knowledge but all through the book there was a positivity that made the reader want to know 'what next' and almost walk the road with him. This however, had a constant air of defeatism and negativity about it and seemed to struggle in the middle to maintain any momentum. For me the book is about a search for GOD. Maybe the way every religion performs their own prayers is different. Moslems perform prayer by doing what we called "sholat" 5 times a day, Christians go to Sunday Mass for their praying.
I believe Paulo here is a Christian, however I must say the way he seeks GOD is kind a strange. What baffled me the most is he seeks angel not GOD? ...more
