This is a sweet little story. In some ways, it reminds me of the kinds of stories one finds in the Bible and the Zohar. Such stories aren't stories in terms of the classic ideas of plots, but serve to illustrate spiritual points. I see Brida in that way. The plot is a very thin scaffold on which to hang a series of philosophical and spiritual ideas. From the point of view of fiction, this is less than satisfactory. You just know that you've found your soulmate when you look into their eyes..you just know.

Brida actually is a typical girl who wanted to find her true love..

Brida is just like the rest of us who thought that the person claims to love us isn't the one meant for us...

Brida is maybe acted out of love when she found her soulmate but chose not to be with him..

Who wouldn't go that far to search for the one they love? That far..as in plunging herself into the magic world?

To be honest, Brida was a book that i've been looking for but couldn't afford to buy it because it's still expensive. But then finally, i could buy the book and started to read it. Wasn't really like i expected, since i thought it'll be more or less the same with the Zahir (i actually love the Zahir), but it turned out different.

Brida, a irish girl in search of learning magic for understanding life perse., laments lot of interesting facts about life. Its good to understand the power of sun and moon. But, I feel - first time readers could not make out indepth of it. Her teacher talks about lots on power of sun / moon - but indepth information not upto the mark what I felt in Paulo'book. I expected a lot from this - but could not find much info rather book is not giving much exploration. I thought of reading it again befo ...more

I found this book answerd certain questions that i have had my self and am now alot more relaxed about things. I would definately recommend this book to everyone i know.

Prose as good as always, but cannot get into the story. There are some aspects of the book not fully explained (Tradition of the Moon, etc.) Found the ending anti-climatic
