Another masterpiece from Paulo Coelho. I was reminded of nikos Kazansakis' Last Tempation through much of this, from the point of view of a man with a destiny unable to come to terms with it, constantly tortured by his self doubt until, eventually, through his trials and circumstances, coming to a deep personal understanding of his true destiny. More difficult to read than the Alchemist but not any less profound in the lessons it has wrapped in the text. I always come away from the authors books

Fifth Mountain is written more in a parable form and is in fact about a piece of the bible. It's still an interesting tale enough to read and focuses on having faith in times of great misfortune.
