I thought of the word Charisma before it was mentioned in this novel, and it was only used once. WOW, this is a wonderful story...I enjoyed getting to know Athena through those that knew her. The end was surprising and I'm happy the way it turned out!

This book remind us to not judge people because of what they do, where they came from, the roots of their life, the looks, what they have. Every people search their happiness in different way and need an answer about what is life, what do we live for. People need love to live. People need faith to believe. What people do, there must be reason behind the reaction.

As an avid fan of Mr Coelho, I feel that he has, once again, instilled a wealth of wisdom into this unique book, The Witch of Portobello. I particularly like his unconventional writing style of presenting the main protagonist through the eyes of other characters associated with her in one way or another. Besides, I also found that the end is very surprising and totally unpredictable. It made me smile just when I, too, realised that "Love simply is".
