I would probably give this book 4 1/2 stars. This is an interesting book about a family in a small town in North Carolina. Martin, the central character is an alcoholic homosexual, who returns home when his oldest brother goes missing. The story is told through varous characters in the book, which include petty jealousies and uneducated thinking. This is a very dysfunctional family but the story is well told. I found the characters interesting, especially Ivy and Bertie.
