I'm such a sucker for animals and reading this book I felt like I knew Dewey. It was a "feel good" read and even though I knew Dewey couldn't live forever I felt sad when his time had to end. I've been in the authors shoes many times over the years with my pets. I love cats and dogs and sometimes I think they understand us better than humans do. What a lucky cat Dewey was! I related to Vicky and her love for Dewey. Our library cat, Chessie, is becoming as well-loved as Dewey. If cats could read, I'd definitely want to come back as library cat in my second life.
