Reading this book was kind of like watching a train wreck. The main character is Annemarie Zimmer, a 38 year old woman who at one time was an equestrian olympic hopeful. Ms Zimmer loses her job, fights with her daughter, who is about to be expelled from school, and finds out her husband wants a divorce. She also finds out that her father has ALS, Lou Gehrigs disease.
