Amber Appleton is an inspiration to everyone, and she comes from a seemingly hopeless situation. Still she keeps things on the sunny side with her optimistic outlook. She is homeless, her father abandoned her as a baby, her mother is an alcoholic, and this is just the beginning. Amber's dog, Bobby Big Boy, and her faith in JC help her though some of the worst times. She stays busy teaching English to Korean women, and cheering up old folks at the nursing home.
