Lucy and George were destined to find each other. Forster's Victorian romance begins slowly, but stay with it and things pick up.
Thank goodness Lucy broke things off with Cecil before she was trapped in a loveless marriage. Of course it would have been indecent to confess her true feelings so soon after calling off her engagement.
I was so glad when Charlotte let things slip to George's father. Lucy along with everyone else believed hiding their feelings was the proper thing to do.
