In this story two young girls, best friends, find a mermaid in the bottom of a swimming pool, at a seaside snack bar. Aquamarine, the mermaid, has been washed ashore after a hurricane blows through the resort area. Meeting Aquamarine is the start of a fantastic summer adventure. Aquamarine has seen Raymond, the snack bar attendant, and instantly is lovestruck. The girls help the mermaid make a love connection by disguising her fishtail and arranging a date between Aquamarine and Raymond.
