I love this book. I love the entire series. I found them first in seventh grade, but the third one hadn't come out yet. I was scanning my middle school library's shelves, when I noticed an interesting cover near one of my favorite book series. I read the back and I thought the plot was interesting. This is a book to carry around in your head and think about for awhile.

This series is just unbelievalbe. I didn't want to finish this book because I don't want the ride to be over (only other book to make me feel that way was the first Harry Potter).

There are so many truths, examine your own self moments in here I was just stunned and tearing up every chapter or so. Only one other book ever made me feel so much like someone else held my own beliefs or thoughts on some fairly controversial sub ...more

By far the best in the trilogy. Not that the other books were bad, far from it, this one was just the best. The ending is magnificent. You're going to hate Libba for a while but, it's absolutely beautiful. I loved how Gemma was searching for herself, and talks a bit about Victorian lifestyle too. Gemma Doyle has bound the magic to herself, exhilarating, unpredictable, frightening and powerful she is being pulled in different directions by those who want the magic for themselves. The folk of the realms who want to have a voice for the first time in centuries, the Order who want to restore there former glory, the Rakshana who are tired of being mere protectors of the magic and want to weild it, the winterlands creatures who wish to use the magic to enter our world and her friends who want Gemma Doyle has bound the magic to herself, exhilarating, unpredictable, frightening and powerful she is being pulled in different directions by those who want the magic for themselves. The folk of the realms who want to have a voice for the first time in centuries, the Order who want to restore there former glory, the Rakshana who are tired of being mere protectors of the magic and want to weild it, the winterlands creatures who wish to use the magic to enter our world and her friends who want a chance to change there futures. Amongst all of this Gemma must make her debut into society.

I admittedly found myself wishing that Gemma would hurry up and make a descision. This book could have been probably 300 pages shorter without her consant indescison. To share the magic? keep it for herself? make the alliance? it took until quite near the end for her to finally choose her path which she has been trying to figure out for the past two books.

That said I DID enjoy The Sweet far Thing. Ann finally found her voice (without the use of magic)Felicity got her freedom and Gemma started a new chapter in her life. The revalations about the true nature of Felicity and Pippa's relationship didn't come as much of a surprise and I found myself crying when Felicity finally let Pippa go, As Gemma said she wouldn't have lasted as long as she did had it not been for there love. As for Kartik....I would have liked him to come through the battle and make a new start with Gemma but I am glad they finally expressed there feelings for one another. I was surprised however at Circe's attempt to protect Gemma. The one woman who Gemma shuld loath and hate, the woman who caused the death of her mother turns out not to be as bad as we thought....selfish, power hungry and to all intents and purposes dangerous there is still some kind of concience inside her. however faint.

So all in all a satisfying end to a wonderful story about finding out who you are and having the courage and stength to face it. ...more

The gothic Victorian fantasy concludes and I was waiting despreately to see how it was going to end. It was a long read, but fast paced enough that I got through the 800 pages in little over a week. While there were many surprises along the way, most of them weren't completely shocking, but a few did make me raise my brow.

I wish I could give it an Infinite Number of stars! I thought this book was amazing. It was long at 822 Pages, but the detail was great. I felt like I was her, but not exactly. I felt was she was feeling, the fear, the love, everything! Another reason why Books in some ways are SOOOOo much better than Movies! You can know what they're feeling, know what they're thinking. ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS! I loved it so much, it was deffinently the best Libba Bray book. It almost had me crying (I did tear uo though) at the end.
