I love this book. I love the entire series. I found them first in seventh grade, but the third one hadn't come out yet. I was scanning my middle school library's shelves, when I noticed an interesting cover near one of my favorite book series. I read the back and I thought the plot was interesting. So I decided to give it a chance and read it. I thought they were great. I mean, I really didn't consider them as some of my favorite books. Eventually, I went on with my life and sort of forgot about ...more

At the beginning it's slightly confusing, but if you get past the first 30 pages, you find a real treasure. One of the best books ever. Gemma is a fabulous character, the plot is orginal, and I gotta say I love it. I love the fire between Kartik and Gemma. I like how the girls are enemies from the beginning yet they become closer then any friends I have ever read about. ...more

This book is pretty much amazing, has everything a good book should have (if you're asking me). Magic, romance, humour, suspense, weird friends, and something's always happening. Except for the first theirty pages. Those pages are kinda boring, but after that it is really, really, good. rebel angels is it's sequal, and it is even better. ...more

At the heart of this novel it's a gothic romance peppered with teen angst, rivalry and the many pains of growing up in a time when women didn't have a real place in the world. (Which certainly makes you appreciate how lucky we are today and to see how far we have come.)

An engrossing read, the language is almost lyrical at times, especially when Bray describes the beauty of the Realms, which is the alternate world that the characters visit. The magical/fantasy world Bray created is very interesti

My friend loaned me this book thinking I'd enjoy it, I was skeptical, it just didn't seem like my kind of story but while it was a bit slow to begin with it soon picked up pace and I found myself completely lost in it, I loved it. It had just the right amount of suspense and magic to hold my intrest firmly without going over the top like Eragon did. I quickly asked my friend to borrow Rebel Angels after I'd finished A great and terrible beauty. I also can't wait for the third book to be released ...more

A Great and Terrible Beauty is a really good book to read. Its toattly different than what you think it would be about and when I read the back of the book I thought it wasn't going to be as good as I think it is now. A Great and Terrible Beauty is full of suspence, mystery, and many other things. Its one of my favorite books. ...more

This book is so amazing! It's so well-written, I get goosebumps at some parts. There's a good mystery in it and I found myself struggling to stay awake even though it was 4am just to find out what happens next. I just couldn't put the book down. I've never really liked fantasy but this one is an exception. ...more
