What Members Thought
As expected, City of Lost Souls was a great continuation where the City of Fallen Angels left off. If you haven’t read the first four books in the series better start now. It’s hard for me to write a review and not to spoil everything that transpired in this series, which included what happened in this story.

This book strangely ended up being better than I thought. Let's get things straight--I prefer The Infernal Devices to The Mortal Instruments, and I make no secret of that.
Still.. City of Lost Souls was pretty good.
At first I was a little bored, but then around page 300 it picked up and started calling up my interest. The thing with Cassandra Clare is that she just wants to say SO MUCH. And I don't blame her, because she's good. But there were a couple things that could have been said in a few pa ...more

I don't know how she does it, but Cassandra Clare has a way with wrapping up a novel and still leaving you hungry for the next!
City of Lost Souls was not my favorite of the Mortal Instruments series. However, that does not mean that CoLS was not just as amazingly written as all of Clare's novels. It started off slowed but definitelty picked up halfway through Part II.
Relationships heated up BIG time in this book. And I mean everybody got some action: Maia/Jordan, Isabelle/Simon, Magnus/Alec, Cla ...more

Absolutely amazing! This book was just as good as the rest of Cassandra Clare's books. It was well worth the wait. Everything about it was perfect. The way the characters changed and the way the storyline grew. It had many unexpected parts but none the less, I thoroughly enjoyed it. From beginning to end. If you've read the first four books of The Mortal Instruments, go out and buy this one! You will not be disappointed.

This book was just as amazing as the others! At first, I was a little dissapointed about Jace not being himself, but the moments he was himself--that was what made the book so good. I couldn't put it down--I finished it in two days. I've noticed, that in this book, all the characters have seemed to have grown--Clary, especially. She's not longer hesitant to kill or afraid to take a punch. I can't wait to read the next one! Fan girl moment: JACE AND CLARY FOREVER!:D

I hated Camille before and after this i hate her even more, if the woman needed to breathe i think i would strangle her! She knew exactly how to play with Alec insecurity regarding is relationship with Magnus.
