I had to stop reading this book. Usually I'll give a book more than a chapter, but I picked up because of the raves about it here on GR. I should have read the back cover. It's very much out of my genre. I'm not much for historical/period writing, it always seems very formal. I'm very much contemporary. Some day, when I'm in the right mood, I will pick this up again. And then I will go in and not be surprised.

I absolutely loved this book!! It was so refreshing and new. I loved how the authore turned a historical romance into a historical paranormal romance and made it so funny that my boyfriend thought I was crazy with all my laughing out loud.

A truly enjoyable book that lived up to the hype. I thoroughly enjoyed Alexia, Lord Maccon, Professor Lyall, Ivy, Lord Akeldama, Floote, Biffy and the rest of the drones. I loved the relationship between Alexia and Connall and found their exchanges to be highly amusing. I liked that Alexia was outside of the standards of what was considered an attractive and desirable woman, and Connall wanted her all the more because of it.

Ass-kick heroine, Hot Alpha hero, Witty dialogues and Quick humor.
I don't usually like historical paranormal fiction but this time it's refreshing and you just can't help but love Alexia. It may not be the best of best but it's certainly one the the most well written PNR/UF books today. ...more
