I am trying to get into these books becauase everyone loves them so much. I am addicted to the series so trying to read this and it is so different from the series that I am having a hard time dealing with two storylines in my head. I think this will fall victim once again to the "you love either one or the other syndrom". I love the series for many reasons (LaFayette being one of them). Loved it, loved it, loved it!
In real life I'd probably find Sookie annoying. However, being inside her head is fun and she's believable. Anyone who has ever been an outcast and had to struggle to fit in can identify with her. She's also got a hilarious internal monologue going on as she finds herself in dangerous, unbelievable circumstances and faces them matter-of-factly. Her love scenes with her vampire beau, Bill, are hot but down-to-earth. Even more so are the tense almost-love scenes with E ...more

After the first book I could not wait to jump into the next one! I love Eric! He is a fantastic character and i can't wait to see how he plays into the rest of the series! Sookie is great one of my favourite heroines!

I loved this one the second time around! I remember now how we got to meet some of my favourite characters.

of course I still don't like bill or the way that him and sookies relationship is but the story was still pretty good.
