positives: This was phenomenal. This was an amazing ending to the series (at the time). This novel gives everybody a moment to shine. The suspense is well done. and I'm not kidding when I say this: This novel ties up all lose ends in incredible fashion. I was stunned. Richard finally proves he's not an idiot. Kahlan, still missing her memory, is still an important piece to this story. Zedd is full of information that is helpful. Jagang is ruthless and also clever. Unfortun # 2: Confessor

The suspense is well done. and I'm not kidding when I say this: This novel ties up all lose ends in incredible fashion. I was stunned. Richard finally proves he's not an idiot. Kahlan, still missing her memory, is still an important piece to this story. Zedd is full of information that is helpful. Jagang is ruthless and also clever. Unfortunately, Nathan is just as clever, and this novel demonstrates that with Nathan and Richard together, they're a dynamic duo. Nicci is the backbone to this story to a degree because she's Jagang's downfall. Of course there are casualties. The biggest one being Ann. She was killed by the Sisters of the Dark. Also, I actually liked how this series didn't rely on a big epic battle to end this series. It actually relied on brains and magic. With some trickery involved. How Richard tricks Jagang and the Sisters of the Dark is just brilliant. he lets them open the wrong box and they get pulled down into the Underworld. They really deserved it. And Jgagng finally dying made me very happy. Now, on to the big reveal that I completely forgot about until it happened.

The Key to the Boxes of Orden is: The Sword of Truth. Goodkind pulled a massive twist on us. In fact, he made it so obvious, we just weren't paying attention. It's the name of the series! And when you read "First Confessor", it makes so much sense. It's a brilliant twist that worked perfectly. It was like reading a puzzle and there's so many pieces, you have to figure out which one goes with which. it's brilliantly done. I loved this novel. And it's a big happy ending.

Negatives: The only issue I had with this book is another twist. And the philosophical statements come back in this one. Richard banishes the Imperial Order to a new world. One that they can make as they see fit. That world is ours. Which means, we are descendants of the Imperial Order who are evil people. Well that sucks. after I read that I felt really bummed and horrified. It polarized me. It took me more than an hour to get over it and finally finish the book.

Overall: Amazing read. Ending is well done and the twists are brilliant. Terry Goodkind deserves praise for this one. ...more
