Okay, so I took the day and thought on the book. I decided on three stars for a few reasons. While I did not love the book, I did enjoy. While I might not jump straight into book 2, I know that I will read it, eventually. I am interested to see how things turn out for Nahri, and to have a few other things that happened at the end, explained. Chakraborty's plot has two different perspectives.
Twenty year old Nahri is a thief and con living on the streets of 18th Century Cairo.
Prince Alizayd is the second son of King Ghassa ibn Khader al Qahtani, ruler of Daevabad(the City of Brass).
The two are brought together by Dara, a djin who has been entrapped for centuries.
