IT.WAS.AMAZING.AND.TERRIBLE. AHHHHH SO I AM SO MAD AT THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT IT ONLY LIKE 230 PAGES OF ACTUAL BOOK!!!! ON THE OTHER SIDE, THOSE 230 PAGES WERE AMAZING!! THEY WERE DEFINETLY THE BEST KEEPER BOOK! I LOVE HAVING KEEFE'S PERSPECTIVE SO MUCH!!! I REALLY HOPE THAT WE WILL GET MORE OF KEEFE'S PERSPECTIVE IN BOOK 9!!!!

EXCUSE ME MA'AM, I WAIT AN ENTIRE YEAR FOR THIS BOOK AND IT'S ONLY 236 PAGES!?! THIS IS ILLEGAL AND YOU SHALL BE ARRESTED FOR YOUR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY (aka the kotlc fandom)!!

Don't get me wrong, the story was decent, but just too short. It's only redeeming qualities were the Keefe chapters.

Loved it!! Let's start with the novella portion:
The novella was SO good!! Shannon tends to have a tendency to drag things on a little bit, but this was pretty straight to the point and there wasn't any wasted page time anywhere. I also really enjoyed how the tone was a little bit different than it has been (in Sophie's pov, at least). It was more positive and determined (and a little radical to be honest). I'm gonna be vague because I don't want to put spoilers, but there were definitely some mo Loved it!! Let's start with the novella portion:

I'm gonna be vague because I don't want to put spoilers, but there were definitely some moves made in the ship department as well that give me hope (*cough cough Lord Cassius calling her out). I can't say I like Glimmer's character very much, but I don't think we're supposed to like her. I will say that I liked Fitz a lot more in this novella. He really seemed to handle his temper better. Kind of crazy that the Neverseen weren't really in this at all, but I guess it makes sense with how short it was. At this point I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! This is my 6th year having to wait after a cliffhanger, and it's torture. Keefe is actually an idiot, but I have faith he'll figure it out. My one complaint about the novella was the length. It was TOO SHORT! I understand that all the other stuff takes up a lot of pages (and I liked it), but 230ish pages is just simply not enough after waiting for a year.

Now for the series guide:
This was SO cool. It was interesting to read about everyone from the Council's perspective in the registry files (especially Sophie, because there's a lot they're clearly behind on). I kept up with the things that we haven't seen before, and there's actually some stuff that I wanna now about. For example, Brant's last name was redacted?? I can't remember if they ever told us his name earlier in the series, but maybe he was related to someone we know?! I Loved the illustrations of people that we hadn't seen before, especially the council and the collective. But my absolute FAVORITE part was Keefe talking about his illustrations in his journal entries. Even though we already knew what he was telling us, let's just say it was very enlightening. The illustrations were super cool too. I'll have to make sure I try to make those Mallowmelt cookies sometime :)

Anyways, loved this book. Sadly, back to another year of waiting. Hopefully the last year though... ...more

Keepers of the Lost Cities is the best series I have ever read in my life. I AKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK, THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!!!! I NEVER NEW ELWINS LAST NAME!!!!!! THIS IS AMAZING...kinda sad tho. BUT SUPER GOOODDD, poor Keefe :(
