This is about the fall of the Habsburg empire. There are some really good scenes as well as depictions of Franz Joseph, the emporor himself. The book is also a saga, following four generations of the von Trotta family. I enjoyed the clear and easy-to-read prose, but would have like both more and stronger dialogue, if only to give the characters more life.
