I have a burning question about this book - I want to know about its puzzling translation from polish to french to english and whether I have lost anything, or merely gained some awkward sentence structures that have confused me slightly about certain particular passages in the book. I really liked Lem's ideas and his beautiful Solarist history: its great and forgotten entries into his imaginary bibliographies. Stanisław Lem is one the most popular Polish writers - especially in countries like Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria (generally post-communistic countries). Solaris despite its science - fiction character has philosopical side. Good literature that isn't boring. ...more
