Un roman intemporel qui a su décrire la condition humaine, Meursault est un intrus indifférent à tous, à la mort, à l'amour, à Dieu, à la justice... Il se sent "étranger" à lui-même et à ses actes. Il sombre dans l’absurdité de son être, il commet un acte absurde en tuant l’autre (qui n'était pas son ennemi d'ailleurs) sans savoir pourquoi. Coupable mais sans sentiment de culpabilité, il ne réagit même pas à son destin tragique de sentence de mort!

The story is about an ordinary man who commits a senseless murder. Depicting his likes for a young women and then it recounts his every day life and his lack of faith while in prison and on trial.
I think this is a good book for young men ages 12 and up.

Excellent and wonderfully written book. Challenges the "status quo" on emotions,feelings, ways of life, and much more. Very philosophical adn keeps you on the edge of you bed.

A short read with a protagonist that is less than desirable. Yet Camus spoke so profoundly in so few words on the indifference of a man held to an unbending world. My brief sympathy for him was surprising.
