Even after re-reading it in college, I still don't know what to think about the Stranger. At least the Plague made me feel something (even if that something was "depressed") But I honestly don't know how I feel about the Stranger, maybe that was Camus' idea the whole time.

I came across this book before I had read much existentialist literature and was blown away by it. Now that I have tempered that impression by many years of bleak but inspiring existentialist works, I think of it as a good introductory book. The classic argument against the existence of true morality played out with intelligence and candor. When I read it for the first time, I immediately re-read the last five pages because I was so inspired by them. I think this is a great book for anyone, but
