This is one of my favourite books and I've read it 3 times over the years, so it has to go on my Goodreads list. Each time I still find touches of humour and satire I had never seen before.
As a child of course I was enchanted by the tale of the tiny, but excessively pompous Lilliputians (I still remember the day in my early teens that I first discovered the satire behind the story - when I realised the King was a thinly disguised King George), but more recently I've found far more to think about ...more

Definitely an odd little book! I read this book as a child (I'm sure it was abridged and simplified because I was in third grade) and have seen various movies made of it. Most movies deal with the voyages to Lilliput and Brobdingnag but I don't think I have ever seen one that covers the voyages to Laputa, Balnibarbi, Glubbdubdrib and Luggnagg. What strange places these last ones were!!

I enjoyed the book. I originally thought the story only had Gulliver visit the tiny folks of Lilliput. So halfway through the book I was surprised it wasn't over! I really enjoyed the book though, it was fun. I feel there was some satire or something I should've acknowledged between the lines of the book. I didn't get it. I enjoyed the book though and recommend it.

Too much of a philosophical stuff in here as for adventure book. One of examples for book from early 18th century showing different forms of government and relations between countries in author's times.
