I don't like most of Marquez's works that include subject of love cause they're nearly always about psychical love mixed with obsession - I put it down to Latino mentality and thouhgts on love and sex.

Love in the time of cholera is quite different. It's also about love, but somehow Gabriel García Márquez was able to find a balance between sex, obsession and love as an emotion.
